‘Dancing’ stars ‘light up the night’

The glitz, glamour, elegance and exceptional talent of popular television show “Dancing with the Stars” is coming to Stockton in a live version of the program that promises to ‘Light Up the Night.’

“Dancing with the Stars Live! – Light Up the Night” will be at the Stockton Arena on March 8 as the winter tour has led the show to the Central Valley. For the first time the two celebrity finalists, actor/race car driver Frankie Muniz and Season 25 Mirror Ball winner and singer Jordan Fisher, will join the Season 25 performers.

Lindsay Arnold, Alan Bersten, Sharna Burgess, Witney Carson, Artem Chigvintsev, Keo Motsepe, Gleb Savchenko, Emma Slater and others are also expected to be on the tour. However, the cast is subject to change.

Guests will experience the excitement live on stage that is normally seen in their living rooms but with a little less stress of competition. Fisher and Muniz will be reunited with their partners, Arnold and Carson.

The production will feature several numbers that were seen on ABC’s show, as well as original productions created by Emmy-winning choreographer Mandy Moore along with a little creative input from the dancers.

After being part of “Dancing with the Stars” for 10 seasons, Arnold finally got that first-place win in Season 25, partnered with Fisher. They both received a Mirror Ball Trophy for their first-place win and they will be bringing their chemistry, excitement and skills to the Stockton Arena for the Live Tour. Throughout the seasons, Arnold has finished in fourth, third place twice and second place and could not be happier receiving first place.

“I pretty much spent most of my professional career on this show and it has evolved so much and not just because of the show, but me; I have evolved and changed,” stated Arnold. “I have learned so much. I have been able to work with so many different kinds of people, so many different celebrities and all of my fellow castmates that have made this experience so incredible.”

Arnold has been dancing since she was five years old and when she was about 10 she recalled watching the show and dreaming of being on it. She has not stopped since. Growing up she trained in all styles of dance including contemporary, jazz, hip hop, ballet and ballroom.

“I feel so great,” Arnold noted about winning. “It has been kind of a long time coming. And now being on the tour after winning, it is pretty surreal.”

Arnold explained that they travel with the Mirror Ball for certain events and that it is quite heavy, but well worth the trouble of bringing it along.

“This is my fourth tour and traveling with the professional dancers is my favorite part of the year,” stated Arnold. “We have so much fun together and we are all really, really close. We really are like a family. We have that connection. It could not be like that, so I am very lucky that we are all friends and have good relationships.”

The fact that they are not being judged and do not have to worry about being eliminated while performing on the tour is one of Arnold’s favorite things about the live show. They have more freedom and ease and really get to show the audience their skills since they are able to dance with the other professional dancers.

“It really is just our time to go out there and shine and have fun and not worry about anything and just enjoy ourselves,” expressed Arnold. “It is a really cool mixture of elements from the TV show but also new, fresh, fun, exciting things that people have not seen before. I think one of the coolest things about the tour is that you are going to see professionals dance with professionals, which is something that you don’t get to see on the TV show very often.”
