Patterson revs up for annual car show

The summer is here and for car enthusiasts that means hitting the streets for local car shows. Relax’d Attitude Car and Truck Club and Adventure Christian Church are hosting their fifth annual Patterson Car Show in downtown Patterson. The free family-friendly car show hits the streets on June 25.

“This is the fifth year of the show. The first year started out very small, approximately 15 to 20 cars, and (it) had grown to 49 vehicles last year. We are hoping this year will bring 50 to 60 as we get our information out to different car clubs and other enthusiasts throughout the area,” said Relax’d Attitude founder and president Tim Silva.

Relax’d Attitude is a family based car and truck club based out of Patterson.

“We are about family first, vehicles second. We love our vehicles, but it is about being with family and friends and enjoying life. We, like any other club, are there for each other. Whether it’s working on a vehicle, enjoying a meal together or helping each other out in a time of need,” Silva said of the club.

The growth in popularity of the Patterson Car Show has taken over as Patterson residents are looking forward to the show.

“My family and I attended last year and we were hoping they would bring it back this year. It is exciting to hear that they are bringing it back. My youngest son loves looking at the cars, and it is a great way for the family to get out and enjoy the nice weather too,” said Patterson resident Hector Villa.

Along with sponsoring the event, several local businesses have stepped forward to donate raffle prizes for the event. A 50/50 cash raffle will be held, and all other proceeds go towards helping the H.O.S.T. (Helping Others Sleep Tonight) House of Patterson, an organization that, along with local churches, help the homeless and less fortunate in the area get back on their feet.

Along with raffle prizes, hardware is handed out in several different categories. Among the awards sponsored by Illicit Car and Truck Club of Turlock and Cruz Auto of Patterson are: Best Motorcycle, Best Bicycle, Best 4x4, People’s Choice, Top 10, Farthest Traveled and Best of Show. Their Best of Show trophy is sponsored by Apostles Tattoo of Patterson.

“Our car show is about the love of cars, motorcycles, bikes. It is free for spectators, and is a family based show. We encourage the community to come out and see what we car enthusiasts love about our passion. There will be Hot Rods, Mini Trucks, Sunday Drivers, Motorcycles, Bicycles, Under Construction and so much more,” Silva said.

The event is held at Patterson’s North Park that runs along Highway 33 and Las Palmas Avenue. The show is a four-hour event that begins at noon on June 25. Vehicle check-in is from 11 a.m. to noon. For more information log on to their website
