Planning for that special day

BY VIRGINIA STILL

One of the most important days that any man or woman will be a part of in their lifetime is their wedding day. The wedding nuptials should mean a lifetime of love and unity with traditions that vary across cultures, religions and countries. To prepare for that exceptional day, many couples will enlist a wedding planner or wedding coordinator to hopefully have a unique and stress-free experience that goes off without a hitch. There are also bridal fairs, expos, showcases, fashion shows, television shows and magazines to help make that dream wedding a reality and get the creative ideas flowing.

The DoubleTree Wedding and Event Showcase will be held from noon to 3 p.m. March 13 in the Grand Ballroom at the downtown venue, 1150 9th St., Modesto. There is no admission fee to attend the event and parking can be validated.

General Manager Kole Siefken said DoubleTree officials have the pleasure of working with some of the area’s finest event service providers and are pleased to present them to attendees to assist with their planning needs.

Each year the staff at the DoubleTree collaborates with wedding coordinator Kimberly Vaughan and other preferred providers to put on a lavish wedding planning experience that brings Modesto’s finest wedding vendors together with Central Valley brides. Champagne will be served up for all attendees at the March 13 showcase, along with a variety of hors d’oeuvres. The hotel’s wedding catering manager will be available for any questions.

Also in the 209, Dominic Coleman will be hosting Merced’s very own Wedding & Quinceañera Galleria at noon March 6 at Gateway Gardens, 560 W. 18th St. in Merced.
