The Brass Tap Craft Beer Bar offers a smorgasbord options for craft beer lovers with 60 beers on tap, along with wine, cider and a full bar.

Rick and Kathy Sousa opened the highly anticipated Modesto establishment in April and were pleasantly surprised by the excitement and participation from the public. They opened at 11 a.m. and every seat in the house was filled, including those on the patio, the entire day.

“Modesto was ready to go out,” said Kathy. “We were really busy. We quickly discovered that there was a lot of anticipation and euphoria around our opening. There was nothing like it.”

Some best sellers offered at the Brass Tap on tap are the Ace Pineapple Cider, Indigeny Reserve Blackberry Hard Cider, Allagash Curieux, Delirium Tremens, Coronado Orange Avenue Shandy, Golden Road Mango Cart, Almanac Love Hazy IPA, East Brother Red IPA, Dust Bowl Taco Truck Lager, Coronado Salty Crew Blonde Ale, Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout 2019, Lost Coast Tangerine Wheat, and an import Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier, to name a few.

“We live in a region that likes their light refreshing beers and given our climate, our lighter lagers and pilsners move. But there has been a lot of following of the hazy IPA section so the ones that are a little bit more New England style with a different type of hop combination and not as bitter, those are doing extremely well,” said Rick. “We carry local breweries here. We try to support our local breweries. There are a lot of great breweries in California so we are very lucky.”

They also offer an assortment of bottles and cans in a variety of styles including brown ales, ciders, classic Belgian, dark lagers, gluten friendly, lighter ales, Pale Ales, porter, sours, and stouts.

“The Brass Tap is about putting the right beer, in the right glass, at the right temperature with the right pour,” said Kathy. “It is very important and we train all our employees to treat beer with respect by putting it in the right glass.”
