For generations, Labor Day weekend in Newman has meant one thing: it’s time for the Newman Fall Festival.

The longtime community tradition returns Sept. 5, 6 and 7, bringing three days of festivities, food and entertainment to the West Side. From carnival rides and live music to local vendors and plenty of festival favorites to eat, the annual celebration offers families a chance to enjoy one last big weekend of summer together.

At the heart of the Newman Fall Festival is the sense of community that has kept the event going year after year. Residents, former residents and visitors from throughout the region come together for a weekend that feels as much like a hometown reunion as it does a festival. Generations of families have made attending part of their Labor Day traditions.

Throughout the weekend, festivalgoers can explore vendor booths, grab something to eat, catch live entertainment and enjoy the carnival. Sports tournaments add a little friendly competition to the festivities, while the festival’s signature parade remains one of the weekend’s most anticipated traditions.

The parade brings the community to the streets as local organizations, businesses, families and spectators gather to celebrate Newman and the people who call it home.
